A1 Trade Print Services achieve accreditation to BS7799

A1 Trade Print Services have been registered to the APACS (the banking industries standards body) Standard 55 accreditation. Standard 55 is an Information Security Standard, incorporating BS / ISO 17799 (soon to be ISO 27001), to which all APACS accredited printers must comply as part of the continued fight against cheque fraud and the misuse of sensitive information.

Michael Kelly, Project Manager at A1 Trade Print Services had just four months to achieve the accreditation, a considerable task considering the accepted time to achieve the standard is usually about 12 months. With the support of the whole business, extensive hours and attention to detail, A1 Trade Print Services underwent an interim assessment on the 7th December 2005 and were successfully recommended for registration after the main audit on 3rd and 4th of January.

Jim Richardson, Managing Director at A1 Trade Print Services said: "We believe we are one of the first printers to achieve this accreditation since the bench mark was adopted by APACS. I'm very pleased with the speed and efficiency that we've been able to implement BS7799. Security print is our business and this accreditation underlines the principles that all good security printers should follow. Gaining the accreditation is just the start - it’s an ever involving process where we will continue to improve our procedures to meet the fast paced demands of our business sector."
