A1 Trade Print Services install new digital press
A1 Trade Print Services has strengthened its digital department with the installation of a new Xerox DocuColor 5000 digital press with a Creo Spire CXP50 Color Server. According to IT Manager, Brendan Roberts, the new machine will more than double capacity as well as improving print quality and registration.
“The Docucolor 5000 replaced our DocuColor 2045, and the transition has been very smooth, as everything has been very familiar albeit far superior. The inclusion of a high capacity stacker has made unattended operation far more efficient, and the speed and print quality are excellent. In addition, the press is far easier to maintain, and many operations that previously required an engineer visit can be handled by the operator, avoiding expensive downtime.”
The DocuColor 5000 integrates with Darwin and Printshop Mail for variable data printing and personalised marketing materials. Managing Director, Jim Richardson said “Although we do produce some non variable digital work, we very much believe that our strength lies in our skills and experience with handling data and producing variable data print in a secure environment. We have been successful in winning a lot of digital work on the strength of our data handling abilites, often providing solutions that others were unwilling or unable to offer. The new Xerox will only strengthen this position, and allow A1 to offer more solutions in security”
